Border guards of the Purvėnai Barrier in the Šalčininkai district took control of an unmanned aircraft and landed it, the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) announced on Thursday.

On Wednesday night, officers of the Purvėnai Border Guard of the VSAT Varėna Border Guard Division recorded a small object flying from the state border into the interior of the country through a video surveillance system near the village of Prūdelis (Šalčininkai district). Border guards immediately used drone interception equipment, after which the object's flight path began to decrease. The area where it likely fell was blocked.
