The 988 Lifeline's specialized service for LGBTQ+ youth is set to return by year's end after Congress directed $33 million toward the effort. But The Trevor Project — which handled roughly half the program's 1.6 million contacts — may be barred from participating, raising alarm among advocates about the relaunch's clinical standards and whether transgender youth will be served at all.
