Japan, U.S. Name 3 Inaugural Investment Projects; Reached Agreement After Considerable Difficulty
Japan and the United States have chosen three inaugural projects to kick off a $550 billion (about ¥84 trillion) investment package in the United States, The Yomiuri Shimbun had learned.
Colossal investments, amounting to $550 billion, had been promised by Japan to the Trump administration last summer, at the end of the arm on the rise of customs duties. Their content, so far blurred, was clarified by the US President on February 18th. But mistrust persists on the part of Japanese companies.
Gas power station with giants, synthetic diamonds, oil terminal... The US president announced on Tuesday night the first projects under the customs agreement between Washington and Tokyo. But some questions remain as to their realization.
