What was the significance of clothes in the Łódź ghetto? "The fashion system"

Can the Holocaust be discussed from the perspective of clothing and fashion? The curators of the exhibition "The Fashion System. Clothing in Violence Strategies and Survival Tactics in the Łódź Ghetto", which opens at the Central Textile Museum in Łódź, prove that it is. What's more, they show that the perspective related to clothing cannot be ignored if one wants to fully understand the realities of the ghetto's existence.
