The old Johnston’s Garage building at 6 South Chestnut Street was purchased by the Central Hudson Gas and Electric Company in December 1925 to be their headquarters for this area. Built in 1889, it originally had 3 stories, but a fire in 1926 destroyed the upper floors. It is now a billiards room.
