- First Secretary Petal Gahlot denounced Sharif's claims as "bizarre remarks," noting they occurred shortly after the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York City, where Osama bin Laden lived near the Pakistani Army's premier academy.
- Describing Pakistan as a "puppet" regime, Gahlot pointed to the 27th Constitutional Amendment, which grants Field Marshal Asim Munir lifelong immunity, while questioning the regime's record on human rights and religious intolerance in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
