General Abdourahamane Tiani has been in command of Niger for two years this Saturday, 26 July, after overthrowing President Mohamed Bazoum. To celebrate his two years in power, General Tiani addressed his fellow citizens on the evening of 25 July in a radio broadcast message. As usual, he accused the neocolonial forces of obstructing the development of his sovereign country.
Since the coup d'état of 26 July 2023, Niger has been going through a period marked by a marked deterioration in its security situation. The military junta led by General Abdourahamane Tiani has taken power invoking the need to restore security in the face of the jihadist threat.
