What do we know about Sir Keir Starmer's family wealth? Prime minister under pressure
Media scrutiny has focused on his inherited Surrey land, a North London home and past legal posts as his estimated wealth reached £7.7 million.
Sir Keir Starmer, Labour Party Leader, faces scrutiny over his finances, with his net worth estimated at approximately £7.7 million despite claims he was not born into privilege during recent campaigning.
The Mail reported in May 2020 that Sir Keir owns seven acres of land in Surrey worth up to £10 million, inherited in 1996 next to his childhood home.
He currently lives in Kentish Town with his wife, Victoria Alexander, and their two children; the pair bought their home in 2004 for around £600,000.
Sir Keir gained his knighthood in 2014 for services to 'law and criminal justice' after studying at Leeds University and Edmund Hall, Oxford.
Born in Southwark, his father Rodney Starmer was a toolmaker and his mother was a nurse; he moved between Archway, Highgate and Stoke Newington before settling in North London.
