- West Shore RCMP announced that three offenders received jail time following investigations into thefts and break-and-enters across Langford, Colwood, and View Royal.
- 53-Year-Old Jarrod Lane pleaded guilty to breaking into a Langford apartment building and stealing a bicycle valued at about $4,000, receiving a two-year jail term and lifetime firearms prohibition.
- Two break-and-enter incidents landed 46-year-old Robert Iverson with a 567-day jail sentence, while 63-year-old Blake Smith received 195 days for stealing a truck and boat trailer; CCTV evidence identified Iverson.
- "These outcomes reflect the continued work of our officers and partners in holding offenders accountable," said a West Shore RCMP news release, concluding investigations across three municipalities.
- Following his release, Smith received one-year probation with conditions prohibiting him from entering motor vehicles unless authorized, aiming to prevent future theft and maintain community safety.
