First Top Cop Takes Command in West Kelowna
Brendan Dolan, a 23-year RCMP veteran, was promoted to inspector after leading the detachment through de-regionalization, officials said.
On Thursday, Oct. 1, the City of West Kelowna and the RCMP announced that S/Sgt. Brendan Dolan has been promoted to Inspector and selected as the first Officer-in-Charge of the West Kelowna RCMP Detachment.
Previously serving as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the West Kelowna RCMP, Dolan helped lead the detachment through the de-regionalization process while acting as the Detachment OIC.
Throughout his 23 years with the force, Dolan gained experience in federal, provincial, and municipal policing, including roles with the Lower Mainland District Integrated Emergency Response Team and Federal Serious and Organized Crime.
C/Supt. Shawna Baher, Southeast District Officer, called the appointment an important milestone, noting his proven leadership and deep understanding of the communities served by the detachment.
Expressing his commitment, Dolan said he is honoured to be appointed as the first OIC and looks forward to building partnerships to meet the evolving public safety needs of West Kelowna.
