- The West Bengal Health Department has sought a report and detained one associate of the survivor, with Principal Secretary Narayan Swarup Nigam saying a report is expected by Sunday morning, as protests erupted.
- The incident recalls the 2024 RG Kar Medical College case as BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya demanded a transparent probe, and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi urged Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for exemplary action.
