'Evidence of Drought': Wesley Ridge Wildfire Burns Through Dry Conditions
WESLEY RIDGE NEAR NANAIMO, BRITISH COLUMBIA, AUG 4 – The wildfire has burned 511 hectares and forced evacuation of 387 residences as firefighters use helicopters, air tankers, and 164 personnel to protect homes and infrastructure.

Updated at 8am, Monday, Aug. 4 The Wesley Ridge wildfire continues to grow and has reached nearly five-hundred hectares. The BC Wildfire Service estimates 494 hectares of forest has been burned since the fire was first noticed on July 31. Seven helicopters are being used in addition to air tankers and skimmers.
