The manufacturer Dijonnais, which employs 106 employees, is now looking for an investor capable of supporting the company on a sustainable basis, after the bankruptcy of its Dutch parent company Accell.
This flagship of the French bike, based in Dijon (Côte-d'Or) for 80 years, has been going through a difficult period since the Covid. The company hopes to save its 106 jobs and get some time to build a viable solution.
The Lapierre Cycles obtained on Tuesday a six-month observation period, after their placement in judicial reorganization in Dijon. The brand, which employs 106 employees and achieved nearly 100 million euros in turnover in 2025, is now looking for a buyer, without its parent company Accell, who fell into bankruptcy.
The news was announced to the employees after the hearing at the Dijon Commercial Court on Tuesday, August 25th: Lapierre cycles are placed in judicial reform, with a first observation period of six months. During this period, the company will try to find a new investor.

The Dijon-based brand Cycles Lapierre was placed under court-ordered administration by the commercial court on Tuesday, August 25. Managing Director William Perrier acknowledged a "complicated and difficult phase" for employees.
