Welcome to the Jungle Cleared by CBFC After 18 Cuts and Modifications; List Includes Bikini Scenes, Kashmir Reference
The film received a UA 16+ certificate after the board ordered changes to sensitive lines, military terms and sensual visuals.
The Central Board of Film Certification cleared the Akshay Kumar-starrer Welcome to the Jungle for theatrical release on Friday after demanding 18 cuts to the movie.
To remove potentially sensitive or crude content, the board mandated changes including deletion of references to Kashmir and military terminology, ensuring the film met regulatory standards for its certificate.
Visuals featuring Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez were deemed "sensual" and removed, while military terms like "Gorkha Regiment" were replaced with "Tum army se ho?" throughout the film.
The film will hold paid previews on June 25, a day before its official theatrical debut, with a total runtime of 2 hours and 44 minutes.
Under a profit-sharing agreement, Akshay Kumar will receive 72% of intellectual property revenues after release, while the film has already secured about ₹120 crore from OTT, satellite, and audio rights.
