- Emergency crews remained on scene for five hours on Sunday, with authorities blocking traffic on Ryan Road East for most of that time to manage the operation.
- McEwen observed "a lot of popping" he suspected were bullets, while one resident nearby attempted to fight the fire with a garden hose; Captain Craven noted explosions could have been propane or paint.
