Stevens Leads Cadillac Front Row Sweep for 6 Hours of Sao Paulo
Will Stevens beat Jack Aitken by 0.048 seconds to take pole, as Cadillac and Alpine filled the top three in a tight Hypercar session.
- Will Stevens pipped Jack Aitken in the final moments of qualifying to lead a front-row lockout for Cadillac at the World Endurance Championship's Six Hours of Brazil on Saturday.
- Both Toyotas were eliminated in Q1, less than a month after the Japanese manufacturer's victory at Le Mans, with Ryo Hirakawa ending up 14th in the best of the two TR010 Hybrids after running wide at Turn 1.
- Alpine emerged as Cadillac's closest rival with Victor Martins finishing third-fastest in the #36 A424, while Genesis' strong run at Interlagos continued as Mathieu Jamient grabbed sixth in the #19 GMR-001.
- In the LMGT3 class, the #23 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3 claimed pole position, with Kobe Pauwels setting two laps good enough for the top spot, finishing two tenths ahead of the chasing pack.
- Only 0.739s separated the 17 Hypercar entries in a closely-fought opening leg of qualifying, with all 10 cars separated by less than six tenths of a second in an ultra-competitive session.
