The nuclear power units being prepared in Dukovany will only replace those currently in operation there. Due to changes in the energy sector and the growth in electricity consumption, the Czech Republic will need more units in the coming decades with a capacity equivalent to three to six Temelín units, energy engineer Vladimír Hlavinka, who previously managed the Dukovany and Temelín nuclear power plants, told Novinka.
After years, JRD Energo is once again investing in renewable energy projects in the Czech Republic. According to the company's executive director, Marek Lang, it will also use money from the sale of large solar power plants in Hungary to build wind and photovoltaic power plants.
