Business in the NHL picked up in a big way on Wednesday when the Anaheim Ducks placed Chris Kreider on waivers for contract termination. The Ducks need to get RFA Cutter Gauthier re-signed, and ending Kreider's contract frees up $6.5 million in cap space to make that happen.
Chris Kreider, who scored 50 points for the Anaheim Ducks last season, is now officially a free agent. The Ducks announced Wednesday that they will place Kreider on the waiver wire. With no club picking up the slack by Thursday evening, Kreider became an unrestricted free agent.
Hockey forward Chris Kreider is ending his NHL contract with Anaheim Ducks early.
