The forint fluctuated wildly due to tensions in the Middle East, but surprisingly stabilized by Friday morning. Against the euro, it broke out of the 30-day moving average in both directions – then returned to the band.

The Hungarian forint began to weaken more sharply against the euro on Friday morning after Israel began bombing Iranian nuclear facilities overnight. The Hungarian currency suddenly lost the gains it had built up over the past few days and bounced back to the other end of its previous range.
