While the race for autonomy is intensifying, the data show that Waymo, Google's service, costs more than Uber and Lyft. Waymo's average price for comparable routes was $6 higher than Lyft and $5 higher than Uber's (41% and 31% more, respectively), according to the report. The question is whether Waymo can grow without additional subsidies and whether there is room for more than one independent vehicle company on the same basis.
