The Waterloo Regional Police Service says "next level conversations" with the heads of the region's post-secondary institution will happen in the coming months to figure out ways to mitigate and ultimately end the yearly unsanctioned St. Patrick's Day gatherings in Waterloo. Though half the amount of people attended this year's gathering compared to 2025, police say it still poses a risk to the community.
