City of Fargo closes Elm Street North due to rising water
FARGO, ND – The rising waters due to recent heavy rainfall is impacting a stretch of Fargo’s Elm Street North. The city closed the street last night between 13th Avenue North and 15th Avenue North, due to rising Red River waters. The traffic is being detoured to 3rd Street North. Corey Hoium, City Public Works Service Manager, says the closure is needed because the high water is causing safety concerns for travelers.
Water levels close Elm Street between 13th and 15th Avenue North
FARGO — Officials closed Elm Street North to traffic between 13th Avenue North and 15th Avenue North due to rising water levels in the Red River. A detour for traffic will run to Third Street North during the closure, according to a release from the city of Fargo. The section of Elm Street North will reopen when the water recedes to a safe level, the release said. ]]>
