The heavy rains that have affected Kilis in recent days have provided much-needed relief from the drought. The water levels of Sapkanlı Pond in Musabeyli district and the Afrin River have risen significantly after the rains, replenishing the dried-up areas.
In Kilis, water levels have risen markedly in Sapkanlı Pond and Afrin Tea with recent rainfall. A large part of the drought-dried pond was re-covered with water, and water sources were positively affected.
