Cote d'Ivoire to host the first West Africa Regional Water Forum
ABIDJAN, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Abidjan, the economic capital of Cote d'Ivoire, will host the first West Africa Regional Water Forum on Sept. 24-25, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) announced Monday. On 24 and 25 September 2026, the Ivorian economic capital will host the first edition of the Forum régional de l'eau de l'Afrique de l'Ouest (FREAO). The joint initiative of ECOWAS, UEMOA and CILSS, under the theme "Valorizing water for transforming West Africa", will lead to Abidjan various actions to reshape the future of water in the region.
