Wolf Alice Cover Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" at Homecoming London Show
The London rock band topped a predominantly female bill and closed with a surprise cover as they marked a major step up in scale.
On Sunday, July 5, Wolf Alice headlined their largest show to date, performing for 45,000 fans at London's Finsbury Park alongside The Last Dinner Party and Lykke Li.
Formed 16 years ago by singer Ellie Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie, the band evolved from playing North London basements to stadium performances, winning the Mercury Prize and charting a top album.
During the tight, 100-minute set, the band featured a giant 40-foot glitterball designed by crew member "Mirrorball Paul." Rowsell told the audience, "I'll love you forever."
Capping the night, the group surprised fans by covering Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" during the encore, while announcing *The Clearing: B-Sides* arriving August 21st.
North American tour dates await Wolf Alice later this year, including Lollapalooza and Osheaga appearances, plus support slots on Olivia Rodrigo's Unraveled Tour.
