- Warren wrote that these changes have "sweeping implications" for economic data, redistricting, and Federal Reserve policy, while probing whether the OMB coordinated the removal of the political-interference ban.
- A Federal Reserve spokesperson confirmed the agency plans to respond to the letter by Oct. 7, though Commerce Department and OMB spokespeople have not commented.
- This action follows other Trump Administration moves, including a proposal to exclude non-citizens from census counts determining Electoral College votes, a shift critics say ignores the 14th Amendment mandate to count the "whole number of persons in each state.
