Hrithik Roshan, NTR’s ‘War 2’ to Become First Indian Film in Dolby Cinema
INDIA, JUL 24 – War 2 is the first Indian film released globally in Dolby Cinema, showcasing advanced Dolby Vision and Atmos technology to elevate the cinematic experience, Yash Raj Films said.
- On August 14, 2025, Yash Raj Films and Dolby Laboratories will release War 2 in Dolby Cinema worldwide, marking the first-ever Indian title in this premium format across global markets.
- Built on India’s first Dolby Cinema screen at City Pride Multiplexes in Kharadi, Pune, which opened earlier this month, the format extends a decades-long Yash Raj Films–Dolby partnership pushing cinematic technology.
- Dolby Cinema combines Dolby Vision’s enhanced color and contrast with Dolby Atmos immersive audio, housed in theaters with curved wall-to-wall screens, premium seating and dynamic lighting to minimize distractions, and the exhibitor plans further expansion to Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Trichy, Kochi and Ulikkal.
- Michael Archer, VP of worldwide cinema sales and partner management at Dolby Laboratories, said `This is a landmark moment not just for our collaboration, but for how cinema will now be experienced in India.`, highlighting a technological milestone for the Indian film industry.
- Available in Hindi and Telugu, War 2 will screen across Dolby Cinema venues in India, North America, the U.K., U.A.E., Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and more, and will also debut in IMAX cinemas across North America, Europe, APAC, Africa and Southeast Asia.
