Seasoning Sold at Walmart Recalled Nationwide over Salmonella Risk
The seasoning was sold nationwide and online, and officials said no illnesses have been reported so far.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Blackstone Products voluntarily recalled certain lots of Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning due to potential Salmonella contamination in the 7.3-ounce product sold at Walmart stores nationwide.
Contamination stems from a dry milk powder ingredient supplied by California Dairies that was previously recalled April 20 for possible Salmonella, triggering recalls of at least a dozen other snack items nationwide.
Affected lot numbers include 2025-43282 , 2025-46172 , and 2026-54751, with related recalls affecting Ghirardelli Chocolate Powders and Zapp's chips, though no illnesses have been reported.
Customers must immediately dispose of the seasoning, as the FDA warns Salmonella can cause serious infections in young children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems, with symptoms including fever, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
In rare circumstances, Salmonella can spread into the bloodstream causing severe complications like arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis; Blackstone Products offers replacement support at 879-4610.
