After an 8-9 percent wage increase in recent months, earnings in Hungary increased by only 7.1 percent in June.
Gross average earnings increased by 7.1 percent in one year, the last time this happened - after filtering out the distorting effects of gun money - was in 2020-21.

To a negative surprise, the rate of increase in earnings slowed significantly in June, but its rate still significantly exceeded inflation, said Dániel Molnár, chief analyst at the Hungarian Economic Development Agency.
