Volkswagen has teased a new Amarok for South America, featuring Chinese Maxus underpinnings and a plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it is unlikely to replace SA’s Ford-based bakkie.
Volkswagen will most likely use the Chinese Maxus Interstellar X for the new generation of the Amarok pickup truck. However, we will not see it in Europe.
