Vuntut Gwitchin citizen launches judicial review to delay election for chief and council

A Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation citizen has filed a petition with the Supreme Court of Yukon to halt an election scheduled to take place next week. The petition was filed on Aug. 31 by Erin Linklater, a non-practising lawyer who was executive director of the First Nation from 2024 to 2025. The Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation is self-governing and located in the fly-in community of Old Crow in northern Yukon, about 800 kilometres north of Whitehorse.…
