The Director of the World Bank for the Western Balkans, Xiaoqing Yu, expressed her satisfaction with the cooperation with Montenegro so far and the progress in the implementation of the joint strategy, emphasizing the importance of the results achieved through reform and development projects.
The Ministry of Finance announced that the meeting also discussed the long-term development vision of Montenegro until 2040, with a focus on higher-value tourism, digital transformation and clean energy, along with strong institutions and sustainable public finances.
The meeting discussed progress in public finance reform, including the new Law on Budget and Fiscal Responsibility and the establishment of the Fiscal Council, as well as a new development operation with guarantees from the World Bank, which will provide Montenegro with access to significant funds under more favorable conditions.
