A 56-year-old father and daughter, Pierre, and 24-year-old Elia, lost their lives during a mountaineering race on Mont Blanc on Friday 18 July. Passionate about the discipline, they would have been victims of a bad fall.

As they climbed Bionnassay's needle in the Mont-Blanc massif, two mountain climbers were found dead on Saturday 19 July. Their identity is now known. He is a father and his daughter, from Etival-Clairefontaine, in the Vosges.
