In Ponte da Barca, the fire for two weeks consumed more than 7,500 hectares of the Amarela Serra. There have been damages to agriculture and tourism sectors. The Government has promised direct support, with priority for animals that have been without food.
A "Solidarity Movement" based in Arcos de Valdevez has begun delivering hay and feed to help feed livestock affected by the fires in Ponte da Barca.
