For the eleventh time in about four years, the Reykjanes Peninsula near Reykjavik is experiencing a volcanic eruption. Shortly after the eruption, the situation looks more relaxed again.
Since midnight, about six hundred tremors have been recorded in the tunnel of the Reykjanes peninsula. The tremors spread fairly evenly from Stóra Skógfella and north of Keili.No activity has been observed since the eruption opened north of Grindavík on April 1, but there is still a glow in the new lava and erupting from it in many positions.Rúv/Hólmfríður Dagný Friðjónsdóttir

In Iceland, a volcano broke out near the capital Reykjavik. "Attention: An outbreak has begun," the weather authority reported. So far, however, there have been no major ash clouds that have disrupted air traffic.
