Vodafone, partners deliver 5G throughput boost

Vodafone Group, Nokia, Qualcomm and Xiaomi completed a 5G software enhancement trial they stated could deliver a 25 per cent increase in data download throughput. Operating over 3.5GHz spectrum, the trial employed 1024 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) and delivered peak download data rates of 1.7Gb/s at a range of 500 metres.
