The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade announced that during the pre-investigation procedure regarding the death of M. Ž. and the fire caused by the ignition of pyrotechnic devices at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Belgrade, information was obtained which, as he states, indicates the existence of grounds for suspicion of the commission of other criminal acts that are being prosecuted ex officio.
Senior Serbian officials accused the student movement on Friday of lying about the use of sound weapons at a mass anti-government protest on March 15, 2025, and of attempting to provoke street clashes, as well as "the idea of assassinating Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and provoking civil war" in the country.
During the search of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Belgrade on March 27, the documentation of the plenum of several faculties was temporarily seized.
In a video address, Ana Brnabić asked the authorities to determine "who participated in it and how they planned" to cause a civil war in Serbia
"They planned it, they organized it, they trained people to put it all into place," said Brnabić.
