The number of crimes of bodily offenses and weapons committed in schools in the last school year was the highest in the last five years, having also increased sexual offenses and drug trafficking, revealed today the PSP.
The report of the Safe School Program (SSP) of the PSP of the school year 2025/26, this Tuesday released and to which Lusaka had access, reveals that the majority of the crimes registered under the SSP is related to bodily offenses, in a total of 1,426, and injuries and threats (920), with these occurrences increasing 10.5% and 3.1%, respectively compared to the previous school year.
Most of the occurrences accompanied by the PSP through the Safe School Program (SEP) in the school year 2025/26 occurred within the educational institutions themselves.
