Jonas Vingegaard has started his quest to complete a Grand Tour triple after finishing the opening stage of the Giro d'Italia safely in the pack.
The pink race starts from Nessebar and immediately crowns the French Paul Magnier, winner of the flight of Burgas after a maxi fall in the final. Deliberate for Jonathan Milan, only fourth. Quiet day for the favorite Vingegaard and the men in the standings.
Paul Magnier was awarded the inaugural stage of the Giro de Italia after the French rider won on Friday in an esprint, while the favorite Jonas Vingegaard ended up without problems in the platoon.
