Vineyard Wind 1 began to rise in 2021 with the aim of achieving its full start-up on 31 March 2026. The plan foresees the installation of 62 marine wind turbines, capable of contributing together up to 806 megawatts of power. At the time the authorities ordered to stop the work, the development of the park was almost finished, with a degree of execution close to 95%, and was already supplying 572 MW to the New England electricity grid.
