Villarreal beat Elche 2-1 in the 27th round of the Spanish football championship, keeping pace with Jan Oblak's Atletico Madrid in the fight for third place in La Liga. After third-placed Atletico defeated Real Sociedad on Saturday, the yellow submarine tied them with them on 54 points today.
