SWEIDA, SYRIA, JUL 17 – At least 600 people died in four days of clashes involving Syrian government forces and Druze militias, with Israeli airstrikes targeting Syrian military positions amid rising sectarian tensions.
- The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported 300 Druze civilians killed in Sweida, including 154 civilians summarily executed by government forces.
- 257 government personnel and 18 Bedouin fighters were also killed, while 3 Bedouin tribesmen were executed by Druze fighters.
