On 30 September 2026, Romanian police officers and DIICOT prosecutors carried out an extensive operation in a file on the activity of an organised, cross-border criminal group specializing in the theft of computer data.
A Romanian was detained by DIICOT in an investigation carried out by the authorities of several countries which aims to break down a group, called KillSec, which deals with the theft of computer data, their resale and blackmail of victims. In addition to DIICOT, authorities from eight states, including the United Kingdom, the United States or Germany, contributed to the break down of the group.
