Henry Nowak's killer, his brother and father deny having more than 30 swords, flick-knives and an axe

Vickrum Digwa, his brother and father all denied charges over machetes, swords and other weapons after a murder investigation, with trial set for 2027.

  • Vickrum Digwa, serving a life sentence with a 21-year minimum for the 2025 murder of Henry Nowak, appeared via video link from HMP Frankland on Thursday alongside his father Moga Singh and brother Gurpreet Digwa at Southampton Magistrates Court to deny multiple weapons charges.
  • Alleged weapons discovered at the family home in Denys Road on December 4, 2025—the day after Nowak was killed—prompted the charges. Gurpreet Digwa additionally denied four separate public possession charges involving an air weapon, axe, baton, and Kirpan.
  • Prosecutors allege the family possessed 37 swords, three machetes, three ninja swords, two flick or gravity knives, eight knuckledusters, an extendable baton, and a manriki-gusari at the private address. All three defendants also face an amended charge of possessing three push daggers.
  • District Judge Henry Gordon deferred pleas on the amended push dagger charge, requesting clarification on whether it met the required six-month time limit. Digwa continues his life sentence at HMP Frankland pending trial.
  • A trial is scheduled for September 27, 2027, to resolve the weapons allegations, with a case management hearing set for June 4, 2027. The procedural hearing will address outstanding legal clarifications before the full trial.
