In Mexico, diseases associated with smoking – lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardio and cerebrovascular disease, among others – cause 171 deaths daily, so the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) launched online services of the Tobacco Clinic through digital platforms such as Zoom, WhatsApp and podcast to help a larger number of people.
The Clinic Against Tobacco of the Faculty of Medicine of UNAM updated its model of therapy, in order to help more people. Now, behavioral cognitive therapies are carried out online.
