This is the decade's contract for Alstom in Canada. The French giant makes a stone's throw: it adds VIA Rail – the national passenger railway company – to its customer list while allowing its factories and offices, particularly in the southern suburbs of Montreal and in La Pocatière, to continue their momentum.
Alstom's workers at La Pocatière can sleep quietly until 2035 thanks to a $4 billion contract awarded by Ottawa.
Alstom has signed a contract with VIA Rail Canada for the design, manufacture and maintenance of 313 Adelesia wagons, in an agreement with a total value of 4.7 billion Canadian dollars (3 billion euros).
