WOLFSBURG, Germany (AP) — Wolfsburg hired Paul Simonis as its new coach on Thursday after he won the Netherlands' top cup competition with his previous club Go Ahead Eagles.
The VfL Wolfsburg gets the eleventh coach in just ten years. Paul Simonis comes from the Netherlands. He has recently celebrated a special success there, but for both sides it is a risky project. Because there are many unknown factors in the mission.
The VfL Wolfsburg finds a successor for coach Ralph Hasenhüttl. Paul Simonis comes from the Netherlands. He gets a contract with the Bundesliga club for two years. Most recently he was responsible for the team Go Ahead Eagles Deventer.
Several German clubs are still looking for coaches. VfL Wolfsburg is now one step ahead of its competitors.
