North Macedonia wants EU, NATO at its talks to settle row with Bulgaria

North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Friday welcomed the possibility of mediated negotiations with neighboring Bulgaria to resolve mutual disputes in the event of potential accession to the European Union (EU), TASR reported, citing an AFP report.

Northern Macedonia, which had already had to change its name to join NATO, was declared ready to discuss with Bulgaria to try to raise its veto in front of its accession to the EU of Sofia.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kallas, has pledged support to Skopje and urged the Macedonian authorities to meet the conditions for membership in the union.
