- "Charleston terrorized quarterbacks and offences across a storied career," said Eric Noivo, the Hall of Fame's executive director, recognizing Hughes as a fierce competitor with the heart of a champion.
- The formal induction ceremony for the Class of 2026 is scheduled for Sept. 17 in Hamilton, where Hughes becomes the 38th former Roughrider inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
