Vernon taekwondo athletes bring home national medals

Taekwondo athletes from Vernon competed at the 2025 ITF Canadian National Championships in Levis, Quebec on May 17-18.
Vernon sent four black belt competitors from Sundance Martial Arts to participate among 500 total competitors at the national event.
The team took home four medals, highlighted by 16-year-old Jack Sharkey’s gold in the junior male sparring division for competitors over 75 kilograms, which earned him a second selection to Team Canada.
Head coach David White expressed his deep pride in the athletes for their outstanding sportsmanship and dedication while representing their club, community, and province at the competition.
Following the final team selections, Jack Sharkey and Jill Donald will compete for Canada in the upcoming international Taekwondo tournament held in Porec, Croatia this October.
